Private Equity is understood as an investment in the equity capital in companies that are not listed on the stock markets. Private Equity investors participate in the growth of new business ideas in mostly dynamic markets and usually obtain a high return. The “Private Equity” investment class is an attractive portfolio component.
To date this attractive investment class was almost exclusively available to institutional investors who could develop an allocation in this investment class over high minimum amounts invested in non-liquid investment vehicles with corresponding long-term capital commitment.
In cooperation with LPX GmbH we have, since August 2005, offered investors a completely new, liquid access to the Private Equity investment class. LPX GmbH is a research enterprise specialising in stock exchange holding companies (Listed Private Equity) that was created in the University of Basel with the participation of Vescore as a founding partner. With the construction of the LPX indices for the Segment Listed Private Equity, LPX GmbH has, for the first time, made investable benchmarks available for the Private Equity investment class. Studies of the University of Basel show that the entire Private Equity investment class has performed well with the Segment Listed Private Equity.
Vescore coordinates, and exclusively takes care of, the support of investment products on the basis of the LPX indices. In the meantime, funds and certificates were provided for investment in Listed Private Equity with different product partners.
